
Gyaw Gyaw
Gyaw Gyaw is commited to construct buildings to the benefit of Karen refugees in Burma and Thailand. We focus on knowledge, process and results that are sustainable both in terms of ecology, economy and culture.

The story
Line Ramstad visited in 2008 the village Noh Bo on the border between Thailand and Burma as a part of an architectural project. The visit inspired her to improve the living conditions for Karen refugees.

The Karen conflict
The Karen people are the second biggest ethnic group in Burma. The have fought for their indepence since 1949. However, the burmese military wants to eliminate them.
